Is there any network interface card that - out of the box - will work
with Vista?

I have a Netgear FA311 that doesn't see the network, even with the
latest "beta" drivers. I'm not sure it is the v. 2 model.

I have an old Linksys LNE100TX V1 card that works with XP drivers. Have you
tried something like that?

Already tried that - a no go.

I did mean to mention that I need a pci card.

Supposedly the Netgear GA 311 will work but don't want to get one and
it not work.

The v1.80 drivers I've been using in XP work in 32-bit Vista with my v.1
model (Mine's is a FA311 v1 revB model, check the label on your card for the
exact model/revision). Vista warns you that the drivers aren't signed, but
you can install them anyway on 32-bit Vista, not so sure about 64-bit. I
don't know how stable they'll be for heavy p2p use, but for general browsing
they seem to work perfectly. Have a look on the net for the v1.80 drivers, if
you can't find them let me know and I'll either host them for you, or email
them to you.
