I know all the warnings against using compatibles but this is for my
daughter's inexpensive HP 1210 all in one. She won't spend the money on
genuine ink anyway and comes to MY house to use MY printer so I figure
there's nothing to lose <lol> Which on-line company offers dependability
and a good product? Free shipping would be nice too. The only company I'm
familiar with is databazaar.
thanks,
Monica

That is a reasonable choice. You should not look any further.

Thanks! I've placed my order.

Monica - Measekite is our resident anti-aftermarket ink troll. He's never
used the product you asked about, doesn't have a clue as to which ink you
should purchase, and is just pulling your chain. Wait until some actual
users of these products respond, please.

There's one (usually more!) in every newsgroup. Thanks for the warning.
I'd actually placed my order before his reply was posted. Didn't want to
wait any longer and I know others that are happy with compatible ink from
this company. I've been using newsgroups for 7 years so I'm all too aware
of the kooks/trolls. They seem to be multiplying at an alarming rate :(

Monica, Burt is a know it all liar. I am very familiar with Databazzar
and have spoken with them. I said that is a reasonable choice and it
is. Do not listen to the holier than thou. And this newsgroup has a
few. As for compatible ink, ink your case it makes sense because of
what you are printing and the cheapo printer you have.

If you were printing prize photographs on a more expensive printer I
would use OEM ink because of:

the risk of clogging is less specifically if you are using pigmented ink.

all of the tests on fading concludes that generic ink fades quickly when
compared to OEM

the photo quality and gamut is much better on OEM.

There are many in this ng that are associated or even working for
generic ink relabelers so beware..

Monica, this obnoxious troll has a real history in this ng of lying,
using childish non-relevant responses, making blatant, obscene,
pornographic references to one's mother, posting in all caps and his
most egregious offense was to change others postings and repost them in
the name of the original poster.
This last offense caused many ng regulars to officially complain to
abuse@ his ISP. They warned him to stop or else lose his account. He is
a wannabe photographer who owns one printer, a Canon ip4000. He has
never, ever used after market inks...NEVER. He has been caught in so
many lies as to become almost comical, where it not for the fact that
newbies looking for honest, truthful user experience fall victim to his
nonsensical lying bullshit. He has been banned from numerous moderated
ng's for his obnoxious, outrageous, lying behavior.
Google his name and you'll see what I mean.
Let us know how you like the ink you’re purchasing. Actual user
experience is what this ng is all about.

I've used MIS inks exclusively for HPs for more than 5 years. I have
never had a problem with their inks or kits.

Frank, I'm a "wanna-be" photographer and own a ip4000 too <lol> So I can't
hold that against the man <g> And no, I don't use the Canon to print
priceless photos.
But, I'll google his name and see if it's someone I need to killfile. I've
done my share of reporting filth to their ISPs and have become quite good at
it >g> Newsgroups
are world of information/help. It a personal *goal* of mine to rid them,
as much as possible, of the slime :)
Thanks for all the well-meaning replies.

My HP PSC 2110 uses the same 56/57 cartridges as your daughter's
printer. I just finished my first order with Omnipro, a company I found
using a couple of shopping bots, like Bizrate.com and/or
Pricegrabber.com. While I haven't used the 57 cart yet, the events that
transpired are instructive about the company.

I ordered online, using their free shipping option. Omnipro had the best
price (including shipping costs) that I could find for a remanufactured
cart, $13.99 (US). I ordered only one cart, because I almost never place
a large order with a company the first time I deal with it. The site
accepts payment through Paypal, so I used that option rather than give
them my credit card number. The free shipping option says it will take
5-8 days, so I waited 5 days and checked the status of the order. I
found that somehow along the way my Paypal payment had not been credited
to the order. Using the customer service email address provided by
Paypal, I wrote and explained the situation, quoting the text of the
Paypal receipt email for the payment, and I asked politely that they
either ship the order or refund my Paypal account. (Always start with a
civil inquiry. Honest mistakes do happen, and to anybody.)

That was on a Sunday night. Sometime around 2:00 Monday afternoon I
received a phone call from an Omnipro customer service person. She
informed me that they were sorry for the mixup and that my order had
been shipped. Moreover, because of the delay, they shipped me an OEM HP
cartridge, rather than the less expensive remanufactured one I had
ordered. The cart arrived Wednesday via first-class mail.

If you ask me, the response to the glitch speaks volumes about their
attitude on customer service. If that attitude prevails throughout the
company, they are good people to deal with. Their ratings with the
various shopping services are very good. Not perfect, but if you do any
volume of business at all customer problems are sure to come up that
can't be resolved to the customer's satisfaction. There are some
customers who just refuse to be satisfied. I think a perfect rating is
more suspect than a slightly imperfect one.

When the time comes, I will be ordering from them again.

TJ, it's always nice to read about positive experiences :) I've been using
Databazaar for OEM ink for my Canon for over a year now. Have friends that
use them for compatible inks and recommended them to me. I've never had a
problem so far and the order always comes sooner than I anticipate. Thank
you for your reply :)

No matter what his opinion is. He is not abusing the newsgroup. I see no
reason to report him. Free speech isn't it?

Obviously you're new here. My post was about the history of this troll.
His former abuses have for the most part been corrected which was
accomplished by many of us regulars reporting him to abuse@ his ISP.
Beyond the history part, the rest of my post about him is factually
correct. Newbies need be warned about his lies and deceit.

Free speech has it's limits. It doesn't give you license to shout
'FIRE" in a crowded theater, it doesn't give you license to harass
people, nor does it give you license to commit acts of slander or
liable. On e-mail or newsgroups, free speech doesn't give you the
right to spam nor send out bulk unsolited messages.

Measekite's purpose in this group is to harass users, and generate
false claims on aftermarket inks. In the past there was a clear case
of abuse and the user was reported to his isp. There are rumors of
legal action but nothing I know for a fact, but I believe the flood of
complaints to his ISP resulted in him at least acting civilized.
Harassment is down, all caps posting is non-existing, and the spam
(same or similar messages repeated many times) is down as well. Over
the past 4 months he only posted 585 messages, which in the past two
years was typical of him monthly.

I have no issue with anyone who doesn't like aftermarket ink. Anyone
who's looking for legit info should hear from both OEM and aftermarket
users.

This guy isn't the only one. For a long while when I searched for
compatible ink for my Canon ip5000 I read a post from a guy giving
a very negative report about a supplier on eBay. It kept me staying
away from taking the plunge and spent more than enough to buy my
printer the 2nd time. Well, until I saw my co-worker's photos printed
with the ink from that specific company to realized that the post in
that forum was a hoax. I have since purchased a refill kit from the
company on eBay. Extremely satisfied especially considering the quality
of colors in every bit better or equal that of Canon OEM's.

If anyone is blindly telling you to avoid 3rd party refill ink you can
tell him to go to hell. I would have saved enough for a 2nd ip5000 had
I taken the plunge at the time I saw the completely rubbish post reporting
against the 3rd party supplier.

If you're talking Hobbicolors, an e-bay company, that stuff is pretty
spot on on the ip5200. There "was" one complaint on the ip4000/ip5000
but I think the user was accidently sent wc8 ink rather than wc6 ink.
Based on my experiments and seeing their photos, this is my belief, not
a fact.

I'll be trying out MIS inksupply.com on the ip5200 eventually. I feel
i'll be more pleased with the pigment black.

I buy my cartridges from atlanticinkjet.com - very fast shipping.

They have a Canadian & US division.
