I have been lucky, with very few problems, except for PowerDVD, and Netgear
wireless NIC adaptor, which I have thrown out! This system is no different to
others, it is based on logic. If we sit down and nut it out with reason, most
times the solution is simple. and there are some cluey people to help here.
We all bore it up microsoft, me included, but this time it is not their
fault. How many months have all the peripheral hardware manufacturers and
software program manufacturers had to write drivers for Vista?
Netgear told me that they won't come close to a solution until at least the
end of April. In the meantime they are still selling their crap to an
unwitting public, myself included.

Work continues on Vista even though it's been released. For example, there's
issues with ISP's not being compatible with IPv6 - and other issues with the
DHCP Broadcast flag messing with internet connections (you have to disable it
in Vista for some ISP's). Finally, there's some incompatibilities between
routers and ISP's (I just found a DLink firmware patch for Comcast users).

It's amazingly complex, and it's a miracle that it works at all. After a
time the stuff for Vista will settle down and we'll be back where we were on
Jan 29th with XP (until the next OS is released).

I agree with you. It is just the same hassle of a new system. The difference
is that there is so much more that has gone into this one, so there will be
more fine-tuning. What date did you say that Servive Pack 1 will be coming
out?
Some things are annoying in it. Aero is a yuppies add-on, and not really
practical. If you have 3 windows open, say word, excel, access, you have to
go to Aero to pick out the one you want to work on, or minimise the ones in
front of it. In XP it was just 1 click in the task bar.
