Compatibility with AOL Messenger?

One of my two brothers uses Windows Messenger as do I.
My other brother, and all his friends, use AOL
Messenger. He doesn't want to change because of all his
other contacts. Are the two compatible so that we can
communicate anyway? Thanks.

I'm afraid not; you'll need to use AOL Instant Messenger (http://www.aim.com) or some other
client that supports AIM (like Trillian; http://www.trillian.cc).
