For gaming ? For graphics ? For general use ?

What features do you require most ?
 
General Purpose: sometimes I play games, sometimes I perform editing video,

Ditto! Matrox cards aren't much good for games, even the high-priced
Parhelia. I'd probably opt for Matrox if I didn't play any games at
all, but would stick with the G550 or P650 and get my money's worth
instead of getting robbed buying the Parhelia.

Of the two, the 6600 would be the better choice. A quick look at the Newegg
site shows the 6600 being available in PCI Express form, which may or may
not be what you require. Another good choice might be the Sapphire 9800 Pro
which is now ~$200USD.
