I see two similar looking DVD-ROM drives

SH-D162C
TS-H352A

Can anyone compare and contrast these two?

The things that stick out from looking at the specs for these two...

SH-D162C apparently does not support DVD+R/RW. This may not matter to
you, but there are many DVD writers out there that support DVD-R/RW and
DVD+R/RW.

SH-D162C supports DVD-RAM, which is not all that common. I don't know
much about it, nor have had any need for it, so I can't really comment
on the value of this feature.

TS-H352A does not specify what formats it does support. You should find
out about that.

TS-H352A is quite a bit longer, and much heavier than the SH-D162C --
though the weight difference may, in part, be due to what is being
weighed. The lighter unit is being weighed alone, but the heavier may
represent a shipping (ie package) weight.
