Hello,
Is there a way to take two security templates, without applying them to a
server, and finding out the differences between the two? I am assuming I
could use Windiff but I wouldn't be able to read the registry entries
meanings.
Also, if I go into the sec config tool how can I save the current server
config as a template? If I use Export Template only the database is exported
not the server. I had a server that was configured with the security
settings, registry settings and file permissions that we needed but when I
exported the template I ended up with only the database settings not the
actual server configuration. I'd like to take the current server settings
and make them into a template. What I have had to do so far is import a
template, Analyze, then change any red X one the template and then save it.
This is a pain, especially in the registry and services settings.
Thank you!,
Tony
