I made a back up CD of my programs and want to verify/compare that they are identical. There was a
Compare command in DOS years ago that I used on my floppies. Does it still exist in another term
under XP? Help was NO help.

Thank you,
Jim Y

In Roxio CD Creator there is a box you can check under CD Project Properties
to validate the files after writing. I always use it but it does take longer
to read and compare a full CD. It has to be done right after the burn you
can't go back and do a compare later. I'm interested to see if others have a
more general Compare solution.

Nero may have this feature too but I don't use Nero.

Jim;

[[Windiff.exe is a tool that can be used for analyzing two files or folders

differences lie.]]

This file is included on your XP CD.

Jim

You just didn't look at the right section in Help. Open Help and Support,
type Compare in the Search box and press Enter. You will get descriptions
for "Comp" "Discomp" and "FC" with the instructions for running each
utility.

What you stated is exactly what I did and got nothing found. I got zero results with suggestions
about similar fonts and FAT32, FAt and NTFS.

On my old PC with NT 4, I get Comp in the Help. I think MS screwed up with XP. They put in too
many useless things and omitted the truly useful items.

Thanks,
Jim Y

I down loaded it, but have a business trip to make and won't have time to try it before leaving.
From the write up, it appears to be what I am seeking.

Thank you,
