CompaqA1000 All-In-One Printer

I can not install / use my above named
printer/fax/scanner... Help, PLEASE!
Prior to install of XP PROFESSIONAL, I was informed that
my A1000 might not be compatible but opted to search &
see if there was, "a fix". Allegedly there was one in
the form of a service pack... IT, doesn't work. Although
the MS/DOS prompt relates that a previous "SP" is needed,
this does not help, either. Has anyone deciphered an
alternate driver source? And... How do I deal with those
that are initiated/which do I keep/remove of those
installed with "XP PROFESSIONAL"?

You first need to uninstall the printer as per the instructions at:

Then go to the HP website, and download the driver package from:

And please read the postings BEFORE you ask your question.... I posted the
fix for this exact same problem yesterday.
