compaq does not support

sound problem
when system shuts down the sound is distorted and not
clear. i purchased speakers seperately from computer and
do not have a cd disk.

Doubt that the speakers are the problem if they sound allright normally..
Likely it's your soundcard. Get updated driver or new card.
