compaq connections date directory

Help!! I keep getting the message on start up that my compaq connections
data directory is either invalid or is being used by another program which it
is not. Can;t seem to fix this and would appreciate some advice. Many
thanks to all.

Hi Paddy,
Please send more info about your Operating system version, protection
software, connection nature/How do you connect and through what device is it
a router/modem-wireless/wired, IE version, did you scan your computer for
malware and viruses, does your Network implement a SSID and encryption method
if you connect through a wireless connection.
Have a look in the event viewer by opening the run command and type in:
eventvwr click [OK], there click on each :
Application
System
Security
Look in the right Pane/Window for error messages(X) Double click it to get
more info about the error and you can copy and paste in your next post:
