I have only 6 emails in my INBOX and it prompts me to compact the messages. I
don't want to compact them. I would like to turn off the prompt and would
like assistance as how to do it. Is there anyone there that knows and would
like to assist me in this?

It has nothing to do with how many messages are in the Inbox.
Compaction refers to removing empty place keepers from the database.
Empty places develop each time you delete a message.
You can adjust the compaction interval here:
Tools, Options, Advanced, Maintenance, "Compact the database on
shutdown every xx runs."

it is not a good idea to use the INBOX for storing messages.
you should create a user folder and move the messages there for safe keeping.

the larger the message store gets the possibility of WM getting slow exists.
compacting just removes the blank spaces in the data base where you deleted messages.

I never had any issue with Windows Mail until I let it compact my messsages.
I cannot delet messages from my deleted box nor can I delete mail from my
inbox. My inbox messages won't open and it displays that ther is no space or
low memory. Neither of which is correct. NOW
what????????????????????????????

Unless your issue is severely interfering with your ability to
use Windows Mail, I'd leave well enough alone for now.

If you feel adventurous, you can use the database deletion/
regeneration method advocated by Steve Cochran.
Your other option is to use a different email program
until Microsoft comes out with a fix for this one.
