compacting on outlook express 6 deletes e-mails

a message pops up on outlook express
recommending "compacting" ... I ok
it and all my e-mails received in 2010
have been deleted. My defaults
under "maintenance" say nothing about
deleting anything .... Why were e-mails
deleted and can I recover them?

Wrong newsgroup. A the title of this newsgroup states, it is for
discussions of Outlook, not Outlook EXPRESS. Ask in a newsgroup that
discusses Outlook EXPRESS.
