Compact photo printer recommendations

We are going to buy my mother-in-law a compact photo printer. Yes, I
know all the arguments about cost, quality, etc. but she's seen one my
sister-in-law has and wants one.

So, I think I've narrowed it down to either the Canon Selphy CP710 or
the Samsung SPP2040, has anyone any good or bad comments about either
of these - or has anyone any other recommendation?

I bought a Photosmart 385, it prints 4"x6" prints, see

I would have bought a Photosmart 470 series for its internal hard drive for
unloading camera photos and its 5"x7" prints, but the latter did not support
smartmedia cards. See

Each of these can support an optional internal battery. I find this a great
convenience to be able to take the printer to a function and just print, no
need for a power cord.
