| I have been experiencing a lot of crashes lately when
| attempting to compact my Access 2002 database.
| Fortunately I backed it up first. Either the database re-
| names itself or creates a backup copy. If I try to open
| any of these versions it crashes again and wants to issue
| an error report to MS. I do not think it would be a good
| idea to turn on the 'Compact on Close' feature given the
| above. I suspect this may be to do with a longish file
| name as the problem appears to have gone away since I
| shortened it. Is this a known problem ?
