My computer currently has 2 pc 133 128 sdrams installed into it. My
comp only has 2 slots for ram and i decided to get more ram. In order
for me to get a lot more ram i had to buy a big stick of ram. So i
ordered a 512 pc 133 sdram and stuck it in my comp. The problem is
that my comp isnt reading my new ram. It should be reading as it is
the same type of ram as my older two. Does anyone know why it isnt
reading it. Any suggestions?

Sure: return the wrong dimms you bought, then go visit www.crucial.com

Find their memory configuration applet, plug in the details of your system,
and out will pop dimms that will actually work in your system.

Note: in all likelihood, the largest sdram dimm you can use will be 256MB -
and only the "right kind" of 256MB dimm will work...

Well, what motherboard do you have? It may not support that ram. Some earlier
boards couldn't handle high density sdram or single 512MB sticks.
Ive run into this problem a few times, either it was on a system that supported
PC66,PC100 and PC 133 sdram or it had max ram at 256 with two slots. Check on
crucial.com for the best ram for your motherboad. Also, check your manual if you
have one.
