Hi. My problem is when I try to connect to remotely pcs
with computer management, some services don't work (for
example EventVW or Local Users and Groups).

I have permission as Administrator in the local machine,
and I try with the Domain's Administrator user, but I
give the same result.

I see the policies (Local and Group Policies), and I
don't see anything strange.

All computers have Xp Service Pack and Fixes updated.

Thanks so much in advance.

Are these other machines domain members? I can always access the
Event Logs remotely via compmgmt.msc as a domain member...

I have been working on the same problem for three days. I have been trying to install SMS clients by pushing the Advanced Client to all workstations. Out of 400 computers I am down to 10 computers that display symptoms similar to Adrianna. Access is denied. After removing these workstations from the domain and re-joining the domain I can now view and modify Users and Groups on these remote workstations by selecting them in Active Directory Users and Groups, right click and "Manage". Yet other areas still do not allow access. (Event viewer.) From another computer in the domain to the problem computers I cannot even access users and groups, but I can look and manipulate shares on the problem computer. I can also use remote desktop to get to and log on to the problem computers. I have started RPC and Remote Registry on the problem computer. Still no luck. I have assured that all policy settings are equal between a working and non-working computer. I added the Enterprise Admin account to the administrators group on the problem computer; Still no luck. All computers are XP and Windows 2000 Native domain.

I have the same problem, and i am the domain admin on a mixed mode w2k domain

I can remotely manage my W2K workstations but not the XP workstations. The local security policy is set to "compatiblews"

"Domain Admins" AND my personal login has been added for the local Administrator group with no luck.
