comp freezes

i have been having touble with my computer freezing ..... it will
freeze at any time sometime straight away other times lasting up to
maybe 5mins of use..... all drivers are updated ... no new hardware....
no virus or spyware.... i ran memtest86 and found no errors ...
really frustrated any ideas to help would be appreciated

This is what I would check for. Bad video card. Fan on video card not
spinning (over heat condition). Computer loaded with
spyware/malware/virus's.

Good ideas, and along the idea of overheating:

Blow out the insides of the PC and power supply to remove any dust that may
be causing overheating.

if your using NTFS it could also be a failing hard drive (ntfs acts
different than say a FAT 32 on a Win98 box)
I'm working on a laptop that was behaving the same way for a month
only to do a Dell diagnostic on the drive, and sure enough DST failed on
hard drive.

thanks for your reply... fans are all working.....not registering
spyware ro virus...
now comp wont atsrt just continuely restarting before loading
completely...
