Hi all,
I'm trying to get my Canon s520 printer working on a Windows 95
machine. I've got it working, but not with two way communication (so
I can't tell when the ink is about to run out, etc), and I would like
to have two way comms working. My relevant settings are as follows:
BIOS:
Parallel Port Mode:
ECP
DMA 1
The MB I am using is an Octek Rhino 6vx
CANON:
Details/Spool settings:
"Disable bi-directional support for this printer" is checked
Details/Port settings:
"Check port state before printing" is unchecked
Maintenance/Custom settings:
"Set printer to ECP mode" is unchecked
I remember the last option should be unchecked if you experience
two-way comms problems, but apart from this, I'm lost. Obviously
under Details/Spool settings, "Enable bi-directional support for this
printer" should be checked, but when checked, a comms error occurs,
and I can not print anything.
Any help would be greatly appreciated
