Hello,
I would like to know which font is the easiest to read on all computers and
is most commonly used.

I still use Times New Roman. Some people say it's hard to read on a screen,
but none of my readers ever complain, including some that are professional
editors and layout artists.

There are such a wide range of variables - -most of all personal taste, but
generally, plain fonts like arial are easiest to read. This becomes apparant
 
Studies have shown that a non-serifed font (such as Arial) works best on a
screen and a serifed font (such as Times New Roman) when in print.

I think Verdana is easiest to read on screen.

In general Serif fonts are best for Print and non-serif are best for screens
