comming out from sleep mode problem

hi got a ibm thinkpad 600e with win2000 pro on it , just recently after the
system comes out of sleep the screen wont come on, it sort of lights up but
stays black but i have to reboot with power switch to get it back. Any ideas
what could be causing this ??? bugging me abit as i mainly use this laptop
as my mirc/mail machine ..

Get into the BIOS and see if the APM is enabled.If it is disable
it.The hardware APM on some systems conflicts with Window's APM and is
not needed for the ACPI to function for standby.

holding f2 to getting into bios i'm greeted with some test i can run on
hardware but no bios settings as such? is there another bios / way to get
into the setings i can change ?

One way that never seems to fail , is presssing all the top buttons esc,
f1,f2 (ect, ect) , at the same time, hope it helps.
