Is there a commercial version of Windows XP professional
available that already has SP1?

I would guess that *eventually* these updates reach the "gold" disk for
manufacturing and then into the distribution channel. Whatever is
manufactured will always be out of date compared to current udpdates.
Vendors will sell old stock first. About the only way you can find out
is start calling some vendors and ask.

Since the updates are so easily available, it's sort of not a big deal
anyway.

Yes, you should be able to find in retail packages and if it includes SP1 it
should say so on the box.

Greetings --

Certainly. Microsoft started shipping retail WinXP CDs with SP1
incorporated late last year, around November, if memory serves.
