Hi,

I've downloaded your new beta antispyware application. I have these comments
so far:

You should do a search for "txtFocus". It's an edit field that is sometimes
visible .-) I figure it's for gui behavior reasons, and that this control
should be out of sight for the end user. I can get the field to display it
self ie. by choosing menu -> tools -> advanced tools -> advanced file
analyzer. Now, maximize the window on 1280x1024. The txtFocus field should
now be visible on the lower left part of the GUI.

The menu does not behave according to the windows XP standard. When you
click a main menu entry you should be able to move the mouse over other main
menu entries to activate these. You can only do so by clicking them right
now, which is "non-standard" behavior.

The various scrollboxes use some sort of inner container which is 1 pixel
too wide. You can tell by scrolling right down to the bottom. Notice that
when the scrollbox contents is clear (bottommost) there is a grey 1 pixel
border on the scroller, and just above it (where there is contents in the
scrollbox) this 1 pixel border is missing due to an overlap with the
contents
panel / inner container.

The scroll boxes does not follow standard behaviour with regards to the
mouse-scroll button. Scrolling the mouse button does not scroll the
scrollboxes.

When a scan is active, the various main buttons should be disabled, and a
cancel button should be visible instead. Right now, you can start a scan,
and
by clicking ie. the "Tools" button, the scan is aborted with no user
acceptance. All buttons which leads to a scan abort should either be
inactive
and a cancel button should be visible, or the user should be prompted that
the scan will be aborted.

The genuine verification pages SHOULD BE on https! I was prompted to enter
my windows serial, but there is no way that I'm ever going to do so on a non
secure line. Please correct this soon, this is a critical flaw.

My only question I encountered during my initial betatesting is: What
happens when the product expires?

Besides all that - it's a great product which I will look forward to
seecompleted.

All for now :-)

Best regards

So far, I've only found a couple of issues...

First, I didn't know MSN was Spyware. (58 signatures!)
I've set it to ignore. (but not ignore always, just to
see what happens)

Also, Spyware Report doesn't work. I entered some details
in "Description of problem", as well as my name, and
email address. I scanned the system, and when I click
the "Send Report" button, I get the following error: "An
error occurred submitting the scan results. Please check
you Internet proxy settings and try again." (Spelling
error is actually in the error message.)

Since I don't run with proxy settings, this could be a
problem.

Lastly, I tried to set a restore point (within the
betaware) before cleaning the system, after the scan, and
got a message back when I clicked on the clean button,
that a Restore Point could not be set. I don't know that
this is a bug, since setting a restore point would make
cleaning the system useless. Unfortunately, not being
able to set a restore point nulls one of the main selling
points of this software, namely getting deleted programs
back easily.
