COMMENT problem

Having used my current version of Excel (2002 SP3) for some years I have
suddenly developed a serious problem: when I create a Comment in a cell it
won't 'close' i.e. it stays there on the s/sheet. Obviously it should
'disappear' when I click anywhere off the Comment. Previously created
Comments on the spreadsheet remain 'minimised; i.e. a red corner icon in the
cell, and emerge again by hovering. What is my problem, and how do I solve
it, please?

Right click on the cell and select " Hide Comments"
