Hi all,

I'm thinking of using the Comment feature in order to comment on my
(college) students' papers, which means that their attachments will be
resaved in my Mac Word 2001, and then sent back out to some 30 different
people, who might be using any version of Word, I don't know.

Are there versions that don't support Comments, or versions that would make
it difficult for students to see the Comments, or to print them out? Are
there any versions still likely to be in use that don't translate between
Mac and PC without a converter?

Any information welcome, I'd like to be able to give them some direction on
viewing the returned document.

Also, is there any way I can tell what version of Word created the original
document?

Thanks,
DM

AFAIK, all versions of Word support comments (in earlier versions they were
called "Annotations"). They are displayed the same way in all versions
through Word 2000, I believe. They're a bit harder to see in Word 2002
unless you have balloons enabled.
