how can i setup my commandline short cut to always open in a set DIR
right now it opens in c:my documents i would like it to open in a different
dir.

Right click the shortcut to the Command Prompt and select Properties. In the
Start In line, type the path you want it to open in.

In addition to what Ronnie mentioned.
This will open C: instead of My Documents. I got this trick from someone on
one of the newsgroups. I think it was purplehaz. Try this: Right click the
desktop/New/Shortcut/Browse/expand My Computer/click the C drive/OK/Next/Finish.
Right click the new icon/Properties/Shortcut tab/Change Icon button/pick
icon/OK/Apply/OK.

%windir%\explorer.exe /e,C:\
