Does anyone know the correct command from the run box or the command prompt
to run a Norton viral scan in Win XP? I'm having compatibility issues with
NSW 2003 can't scan and LU won't work. I know scans are available at
Norton's and other AV company sites. I can't fix Live Update via their KB
1812 to do it , including manual uninstlal and reinstall, which is Norton
Symantec's universal solution to hundreds of problems or the renaming LU
file and downloading a current one so I can't get their update for XP SP2
since they won't put it on their site and insist on delivering it via LU.

Error: "LU1812: An update failed to install. A program that was part of this
update failed when it ran. This update was not applied."

I called Norton and their Tech Support gave me the command "navwnt32" for
running a scan from the run box and command prompt in XP that does not work.
I haven't been able to find it anywhere on their site.
*Two other antivirus programs accessible by Dos--I was curious about these*
1) I wondered if these still will work in the dos emulation environment of
Win XP?
2) Would they conflict with NAV program or cause any other problems--I'm
just looking for alternative scans.
--Could I use them without causing problems for the parts of NAV that do
work--the main ones--Autoprotect (which also blocks scripts and scans
emails) and Email Scanning, File Scanning and Script Blocking--the
duplicative programs that do the same thing auto protect does that Symantec
hypes to the public with those names.
VSAFE--loads the VSAFE program into memory where it watchs (I don't know how
efficiently) for viral activity with its 8 or so switches.
MSAV--MS Antivirus typing C:\>msav c: /c
Thanks,
