Command to open add/remove programs

Is there a run box command or command prompt command that will open
Add/Remove programs? Is it possible also that opening programs from the run
box (some commands from the run box seem interchangable at the dos prompt
and some don't) could be any faster than any other way? For example using
a run box command to openWord, Outlook, OE, typing in "control panel" or
"control folders"?

Go to Start > Settings > Control Panel, right-click on the Add or Remove
Programs icon and select "Create Shortcut" for a Desktop shortcut.

Open Windows Explorer and expand My Computer by clicking
on the "+". Next, scroll down to Control Panel and drag the
Control Panel icon to your desktop.

Carey--

Thanks much, but I was looking for a command that worked either in the
runbox or other command prompt. You can of course drag any control panel
applet to the desktop or elsewhere as a shortcut. Dragging eliminates the
right click>create shortcut step. Is there a reason for then *opening
Windows Explore to drag when you can do it with one step directly from the
control panel in category view?* There may be some reason for dragging it
from Explorer I'm missing badly, but you can get a control panel applet on
the desktop as a shortcut with one left or if you wanted to "copy it" with
the same result right click drag.

Thanks,

Chad Harris

Carey--

I found it. In the run box, or any other command prompt, "control
appwiz.cpl" will bring up the control panel.

Also there are a number of others on this Tech TV web page. It is really
unfortunate that Comcast-G4 controlled by Comcast's purchase of Tech TV has
been abruptly killing off almost all their shows. I hope they keep the
great web sites up. Here are the commands I found at where there are a good
many more control pannel commands.

Wow--what a cool powertoy. A run command creator! I've been looking for
run commands, but never found this. And more reasons why everyone should be
reading all of Kelly's A-Z many times over. Thanks and thanks very much for
calling my attention to that section of A-Z Kelly.
