Hi, I'm having a problem with the windows command prompt, and I have heard
many other people with same problem. Sometimes, when I'm using command
prompt, and I go to close it, it fails to close. I check the task manager,
and command prompt is not running, nor is there a process using it. I have
the correct cmd.exe, I have checked it with others, and I have scanned for
viruses, and malware. It is a problem with Windows that has been around for a
while, apparently. I have found _no_ way to remove the windows, they stay
stuck open, can be minimized, maximized, restored, can do select all, scroll,
find, but will not close.

Upon shutdown/restart, they stay open, and block the shutdown process. Not
even windows itself can kill them and shutdown, they force me to hold the
power button or kill the power in back.

How can I fix this, or shut the window? I have found no mention of Microsoft
even addressing this problem. I am using Windows XP with SP2, since SP3 is
broken junk, and is complete failure on the a8n32-sli deluxe..

Can you get a cursor in the cmd windows? If so, try typing EXIT and
press Enter. Also try Ctrl/C to cancel any operation within the cmd window.
