I'm new to working with command prompts. When I open the command prompt from
start, all programs, accessories command promot i get C:\Documents and
Settings\(user name)>. How can I get to just C:

Edit the shortcut(Properties). And there change the working directory in
"C:\"

That's the default setting, but you can change that.

cd \ or cd..

(just like the MS Dos command).
