I now must ask Where's the Command Prompt in Windows2000?
No one in my office complex knows.

You can try removing it from the command prompt with the
attrib -R command. Just run it on the file while in that
directory. It may stick using this method, I just had a
similar scenario and this worked for me.

In Files/Properties the read-only has the option to be
checked or unchecked. For an software program I use it
requires 1 file to be Unchecked. I unckeck that file and
close and reopen it and find that Windows2000 has put the
check back. How do I get Windows2000 to LEAVE it
unchecked?

Start -> Programs or
Start -> Programs -> Accessories. If it's not there, it's been removed or
hidden from you.
