command prompt wont go to c:/

hello

im trying to use command prompt on my windows xp pro
but when i start it up it says
C:/documents and settings/danny
i want it to say
c:/
so i can run programs like that
but i cant i dont know how to
the program can only be run in command prompt

please help

Danny,

Type c:\ at the command prompt.

If you are using cmd.exe in order to access the Command Prompt & if you wish
to have c:\ as the default directory, try this:

Click Start | Run | Regedit
Goto the following key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Command Processor

In the right-pane, double-click "Autorun" and set the value to "C:\"

This makes sure that command prompt shows C: by default upon loading.
