Command Prompt Closes

I am taking a class and use miracle C compiler to write C
programs. My dos prompts closes before i can see the
results. I can use the getch() command to make the
program stay open. I was told there is a way to make the
command prompt stay open by changing the settings. Is
this true and can you help me. I don't want to use the
Getch() command for all my programs.

at the command prompt type: cmd
now type the commands you want

Is this what you were after, if not disregard.
