I would like to find the command line string for hibernating my PC with XP on
it. I have a Microsoft keyboard with the user programmable keys and want to
set one of those up for hibernation.

I have looked at the keyboard documentation and cannot find anything about
setting a key for hibernation. Thanks in advance. JV

Have you tried shutdown? I mean use that command at the DOS-prompt and
see..

(shutdown -h , and you can't use the -t parameter) I have it as a
shortcut on my desktop...

I found that using the %windir%\System32\rundll32.exe
powrprof.dll,SetSuspendState didn't work on the keyboard command string, but
using c:\windows\system32\rundll32.exe powrprof.dll,SetSuspendState did work.
I guess the default system root isn't compatible with the keyboard string.

Thanks to those that replied.
