All:

Is there a way to tell the PowerPoint viewer (the "pack and go" one)
to exit after the last slide?

That way, one could write a batch program which shows one
presentation, then runs a custom application and wraps thins up with
another presentation.

Thanks!

hehe. That's a new one..."the 'pack and go' one." I love it!

We're gonna have to specify Viewer versions now. What a great problem to
have!

Sorry I don't know the answer to your question, Bernd. I just had to
post because I'm laughing so hard!

No you can't. See the Readme file that comes with the old Viewer. It lists
the command line switches.

I would recommend that everyone keep a copy of the old Viewer installer.
There will come a time when some of us may need it, believe it or not.
There are a couple of things that have been "fixed" in the new Viewer that
were very useful and can no longer be done. The new Readme.htm file
discusses
them.

As long as MS wants to support Ppt on Win 95, it will. As a practical matter
their license allows distribution without any expiration, so I can always
send you a CD that includes the old viewer.

So my answer is: it will be around as long as we want it around. :-)
