Its for a friend who played it years ago, Christmas Pressie :)

I'am using the guide from www.ntcompatible.com, but its not realy
good.

http://www.ntcompatible.com/Command_&_Conquer_DOS_Version_c11491.html

Not having much luck the install.exe just locks up. I'am trying to
instal lit via a widescreen TV via component so maybe thats the
problem at 720p mode. Will try a normal CRt and see if that helps ??

Try using DOSBox: http://dosbox.sourceforge.net/

Other than that if you can get your hands on the Win32 version which has
been released on budget ranges that works great on Windows XP and Vista -
and it runs at 4 times the resolution of the DOS version.

huh?

DOS=320x200 or 240
Windows=640x400 or 480

Your not using the Apple mathematical skills are you? (They mentioned a
4x increase in resolution size increase with their latest video
releases. 320->640=2x not 4x.

I was thinking off just telling him to get that C&C pack just released
with all the C&C games in it.

Does that version and or versions have 4X the graphics resolution ???

320*240 = 76800 pixels.
640*480 = 307200 pixels, four times as many pixels.

I stand by my math skills. 8-)

lol, burn

The newest version is spectacular. Over 10 years of C&C goodness.
Also, the dos version you're trying definately won't support 720p, but
the display -=might-= support 640x480@60Hz
