It is my understanding, that as long as you start
command.com, and it inherits its default EMS (Auto)
properties from _default shortcut, that the command prompt
will have EMS memory.
In fact, I have one machine where XP was installed, EMS
support was working, and then after XP reinstall due to
Blaster infection, EMS support stopped working.
I have found EMS support to be unavailable on several
WIN2K and XP machines. I am wondering if some other
setting may be preventing EMS support, like security
policy?
Any ideas greatly appreciated.
