What exactly do you mean by "cuts out"?

If your base and all your units explode, I'd suspect its due to being a
non-legit copy.

If the whole machine crashes with a stop error, or if the application
crashes try updating your drivers, video in particular.

the average games.. wth. genere classic i gues..

im having the same problem, i got a legit copy on cnc3 and it wont run cos my
os is 64 bit, yet the demo runs fine WHATS UP WITH THAT

I bought it brand new from EB games in Arlington VA. In fact reserved it
around a month ago. I play it using the CD of course.
I have a 2-3 month old Toshiba laptop. has
1. 1.7 GHZ Duo
2. 1 G ram
3. Intel video card ( I suspect this )

when I start a game. In this case a skirmish, it stops around 30 sec later
and the Vista screen pops up.

I am facing difficulty while trying to install C&C 3 on my vista 32 machine.

The install file seems to be incompatible with vista, because it can install
on my XP sp2 machine.
The file that gives the error is cnc3std.msi

Please supply some help here, it is driving me crazy.

Just bought it myself today and it installed fine without any
incompatibility problems here on Vista 32-bit.

I'm also running C&C 3 on Vista 64-bit. When I first installed it, it
wouldn't load. I fixed it by installing the first patch.

Well, vista x64 isn't actually supported by Command and Conquer 3, however
there are workarounds such as making sure you have patched your game to
1.02. Visit these forums
http://forums.ea.com/mboards/category.jspa?sls=2&categoryID=34 for help with
x64, there is a board for vista 64 problems in the 'technical help' area.
I have had no problems with the single player side of the game on vista
64, however there are still problems being worked out for many people on the
multiplayer.

Yeah, officially it isn't supported (64-bit) though the patches are starting
to improve its performance on that system.

you cant use the no-cd cracks with any ea game, you have to put the cd in,
they some how time bomb it. damned annoying but thats ea for you, from what
i see of the demo is c&c3 worth buying? looked like generals with a lick of
paint to me, after company of heroes i think a lot of rts companies need to
kick their selves up the backside,

That's a Westwood feature that was around back in the other C&C games. I
don't use CD cracks that much, but I don't think all EA games have that
issue. Now I have to find a EA game to go test it on.
