ok, having a GeForce FX 5900 now, eats a lot of power ...

will the Sapphire X800 Pro, which is supposed to be not such a power
gobbler, need more or less watts?

what do you think will be the average fps gain? 40%?

thanks in advance,

I had a x800pro for a month. The power consumption
is transparent to the user, but to give you an idea, I used
a PS rated at 300w.. Good news is the card is very quiet,
especially compared to a 6800u.

"had" ? That didn't last long...........

Reason(s) for the past tense ?

The usual reason, a newer, better card came out.
Since the x800pro retailer offered to give me a full refund if
I returned it, I decided to upgrade.

Upgrade?! Yeah, I bet there's plenty of much better cards on
the market already... x800pro is certainly old stuff and none
of the latest games run smoothly with it anymore :-)

Correct, Far Cry is a good example.

even on my old FX5900, FarCry was running smoothly with max details
.... perhaps you had it running on a 800 MHz machine?

Buy it but wait until Half Life 2 is installed on your computer and
save yourself about £100. My 3dMark04 score was 3800 with 1.5gig
ram 2800xp powercolor 9800 pro but now my 3dMark04 score is 9600
with powercolor X800 Pro Hitman Limited Edition. Also i can now
play FarCry at 1280 by 1024 with max settings and no stutter when
loads is on screen.

Buster

P.S I nearly SHITE myself because it took ages to find the card in
the bag.
