Hi Chris
There's usually a uninstaller for this in the 'Add/Remove
Programs' in the Control Panel The name could be
CometCursor/Plus /Shop /Toolbar
Comet- Comet Cursor 3.0
Running Spybot Search & Destroy or Ad-aware might clear
this as this has been around for ages, download them and
run them and MS Antispy in safe mode and see if it
deletes this.

Check the program files folder for comet or comet systems
if its there then carry on with this if not then its
probably a leftover registry entry thats causing
it,hopefully the scanners or the add/remove screen entry
if its there will solve this
If you have the comet or comet systems folder
Unregister the .dll
Go to start>all programs> Accessories > Command Prompt
Copy & paste this into the cmd screen and press enter:
cd "%WinDir%\System"
regsvr32 /u "c:\windows\System32\comet.dll"
dont worry if it doesnt exist,
close the command prompt
Only use this next part if you are confident with regedit
(Hijack This can be used to delete the run entries for
this which you may find easier)But still finsh the rest
and delete the comet folders
