I have windows xp home but would like a feature that is available in xp

pro.
the feature is called IIS(internet information services). is it
possible to get this feature on xp home?

You realise that it's not supported (I also have a vague recollection that
it may cause problems) but if you do a google search for "xp home" iis -
you'll find plenty of information on how to do it.

You could always try a better solution with Apache, that does work on XP
Home. :-))

No. You either need XP Professional, or a third-party alternative such as
Apache.
 
would Apache help me with my situation. I need IIS to compile my asp
code written in cold fusion software???

I don't know whether Apache would help you, but if you want IIS, you will
need XP Pro. Or a Windows server OS.

If you understand the requirements, as you've stated you need IIS, why
can't you just order Prof.

If you can afford CF for your computer you can afford Win XP Prof OEM.
 
CF is an old ver n therefore does nt require a license.
And i just wantd to know if there is a way around gettng XP Pro.
