Why in hell would Comcast tell me that?

Are those techs that brainy?

They still have not resolved my connection issue and blame everything but
themselves.

Even IE7 was questioned as the possible issue.

Comcast sucks, and has a monopoly.

Response?

They don't have a monopoly where I live... we have a choice from 3 cable
providers.

Yep, they are smarter than you. Many corporations are refusing to move
to IE7 because it breaks their enterprise or mission-critical
applications. It is unimportant that IE7 is a newer version of
Microsoft's browser. It is important for corporations to continue doing
business.
They still have not resolved my connection issue and blame everything
but themselves.

And you blame everyone but yourself. Since you didn't bother to
identify those connection issues, it's just between you and Comcast as
to what they may be.

Well that is great. Unfortunatly, there is only ONE high speed broadband in
the PDX area. Comcast.

Continues to connect intermittently. Supervisor at Comcast verifies that I am getting packet loss, below standard Signal to Noise Ratio, and sometimes can't even see modem.

I will see "loss" and "choke" during On-Line games, using "Netgraph." Ping shoots up into the stratosphere and I get the "Warning, Connection Problem" words.
Modem is loaned from Comcast. Motorola SURFboard SB5100. Ethernet card D-Link DFE-530tx+.

House where said problem is, about 8 years old. Newer wire.

Last time Tech was here,(6/4/07) said that everything looks great. That night when I came home (I was not able to be at the appt because of work) Internet did not work. Go figure.

It is like a car issue. Only screws up when no one is around to help.

Computer is built. Plenty of everything. There seems to be an intermittent choke or leak somewhere.

And of course it can't be Comcast, right?

So, that is the end of my rant.

If you have any technological responses I would love to hear them.

Hmm, HTML in Newsgroups, nice.

Sometimes, I doubt this.

Nothing changed on my end since the issue started.

Since you didn't bother to
identify those connection issues, it's just between you and Comcast as to
what they may be.

I will be having them run a new cable from box outside to new outlet inside.
That will eliminate any issues on my end if there were any.

So, After that, I blame Comcast and no one else.

So, Comcast comes out and does a few things with some testing equipment.
Something the first tech did not do, at least with the correct equipment.

Comes down to the drop line coming to the house probably has a break in it
or the casing is cracked etc. etc.

Well, if the first tech would have done it the right way to begin with,
probably would have been addressed quicker and with less hassle. Current
Tech said he is going to have a chat with the previous tech.

Ran a jumper line temporarily and they will be putting another line down in
a few weeks.

At this point, I even upgraded to a 12 mg DL and 1500 kb UL for free for 3
months.

Sorry for the rant but this has been so ongoing it is hard to even relate it
to any of you folks.

Now you all have a good day.

WS

BTW, IE7 is not the issue.

: )

glad to hear work is progressing.
