Combo/List Box won't select

I have a Combo box in Ac97 (source Query) but I can't select any records in it. The box opens and moving the mouse up and down causes the record to highlight but clicking does nothing. Code in OnClick doesn't run. I tried changing it to a Listbox, delete and recreate - no change
 
Is it bound to a field in the form's recordsource query? Is that query
updatable?

Is the form's Allow Edits property set to Yes?
