Combo Box

I'm working in MS Access 2003.

Some times I select a name from the combo box and the name doesn't appear as
selected, it looks empty. I must select again and then the name appears in
the combo box.

what's happen?

Normally I add a piece of refesh code to the update event for the combo box.
It forces the form to relook at the enterd data and doesn't slow my form
down. I shy away from requery in this situation because I don't want my form
to delay that long.
