Combo Box Question

I have a smart device application (written in VB .NET 2003). The application
uses combo boxes. I am trying to determine which event is triggered when you
press the arrow on the drop down list. I would like to place code in this
event to populate the combo box list. In a windows application I know there
is a dropdown event however I'm not seeing any event like that on the smart
device application. I have tried the click event but that doesn't work
either.
