I am trying to combine the two partitions of my hard drive into one. I have
nothing on the partition i want to add onto my c drive. Both partitions are
formatted as ntfs, but i cant figure out a way to add the empty partition
(which doesnt have a drive letter) with my c drive. How would i go about
doing this in disk management?

you cannot use your system disk as part of a dynamic disc...
i really advise against doing so anyway.

you could probably do what you want with partition magic...
but it would be advisable to backup your data first!

Im pretty sure this isnt a dynamic disk, i only have one hard drive. I
created the partition because i took the safe route and only formatted 137 gb
because i wasnt sure of windows could handle the full 250 gb. I was told that
i could utilize the whole space later. But, as i have said, there is nothing
on the partition that i want to add onto my pre-existing c drive.

No, you do not have a dynamic disc nor do i recommend using such.
all i was saying is that the only way you can combine partitions in XP
is to create a dynamic disc...
and you cannot use your "system" drive as part of a dynamic disc

the safest thing you could do is format your second partition
and then gice it a drive letter...
it will be the safest and easiest thing to do

You cannot change the size of an existing partition with the tools
that come with Windows except by destroying the contents and creating
an all new empty partition in its place.

You need a third party partition utility such as Partition Magic
(Symantec) or BootItNG (www.bootitng.com) which will resize an
existing partition without destroying the contents.

Good luck
