I need a program to combine 2 mpeg's. One is about 753MB and the other
2.5MB. Which is the best one to use?

Thanks. However, I have a problem with this one. After choosing the
two files and clicking on "join" up comes a window with a progress
indicator. It indicates no progress at all and, additionally, there is
no HDD activity. Is there something that I'm doing wrong, or have
others had problems with this, too?

small and effective

Thanks for the suggestion. I downloaded and installed it. It did
combine the files but the progress indicator only showed 16 seconds of
progress and then got to the end, although the movie continued playing
past that. I should comment that the second segment, 2.5MB, was
exactly 16 seconds. This is obviously a bug in the program that will
be corrected in future versions.

Install TMPGEnc (free version) and go to "File/Mpeg_tools" where
you can merge multiple mpg's.

Unless someone else has a better idea, that is.

Ian

You're a good man, Charlie Brown. This is the one that did the trick.
It merged the files in record time and the progress indicator
correctly indicated the entire movie length, rather than just the 16
seconds of the second movie (see my other post). I carefully viewed
the joining point, which was at exactly 1:17:47, and it was flawless
from both a video and audio standpoint. A great freeware program!

And TMPGEnc (free version) does a lot of other things, although I
haven't given them a try, yet.

I had exactly the same problem with Camel's MPEGJoin.
Win2K SP4, Pentium 3, low-res movie mpeg files.
