Hi all!

Please teach me how to combine movies. I would like to transfer CD movies to
DVD using Nero. How will I do it? And is it possible to put 4 movies all in 1
DVD? and if yes, will it be playable in DVD players?

Thanks!

If the files are compressed video files like avi files or .mpeg you can burn
them to DVD using Nero Vision and play them in a regular DVD player.
Depending on your version of Nero you will find Nero Vision installed in
Programs->Nero 7 Ultra Edition->Photo and Video.
Nero Vision is a full featured DVD authoring program
http://www.nero.com/nero7/eng/Nero_Vision_4.html

However compressed video files like .avi or .mpeg will be expanded
significantly in size when burned through a program like Nero Vision. For
example a 700 MB avi of a full movie might actually be closer to 4 GB when
burned. You can fiddle with the quality to reduce the size but 4 such movie
files burned to one 4.5 GB DVD will be of very, very poor quality. It will
also take many hours to encode the files and burn the DVD.

A better solution is to have a DVD player that is Divx Compatible. These are
generally inexpensive costing well under $100. All of my DVD players can
read and play Divx files and .avi files. This means I can use Nero Express
(not Nero Vision) and simply burn as many .avi files to the DVD as will
fit. I can get six 700MB movies on one DVD and play them through my Divx
compatible DVD Player. The cost of purchasing such a player is a good
investment in terms of the time saving and the quality of the movie is not
degraded at all.

Thanks!

So I can burn this .avi files as data? and is there any requirements so
that my dvd player (divx comp) wont be confused in what to play next?

Harry, how can i compress 2 separated VOB files into one AVI file by the way?

Thanks a lot.

You don't burn them as data, you burn them as a DVD.

You'll need a VOB to AVI converter. Google and you'll find many downloads.

|
| How will I compress 2 VOB file into a single AVI file? Can Nero work for
that?

Yes he will burn them as data Tom if he is simply coping avi files to a data
DVD to play later on a DVD Player with Divx capability

If your stand-a-lone DVD Player that connects to the TV has Divx marked on
it then it is capable of reading and playing avi files. You can simply burn
avi files as data to a blank disc using Nero Express or Nero Burning Rom.
You must burn as DOA (Disk at once) and you must Finalize the disc. Do not
make a Multi-session disc. So add all the files at once then burn them.

As for combining multiple VOB files you will likely need to use something
like Nero Recode or Nero Vision.
