Combining 2 forests

Hi,

We just bought a small company with 1 DC in their
forest. We've brought up a VPN between the 2 sites w/ a
T1's worth of bandwidth. What needs to be done/(is it
possible)to add the server in the newly aquired company
to our existing domain? Thanks in advance! -Glen

Technically you cannot "combine" Forests -- you can:

1) Migrated users and computers from one to the other
2) Build external trusts
or 3) Upgrade ALL DCs in both forests to Win2003 and use forest trusts

For the migration path, after migrating "regular" resources you must DCPromo
the DCs
(to non-DCs) and then finish the migration.
 
can't combine 2 forests. you can establish trusts or, add them to your
forest by removing AD and then doing a dcpromo to creating a new DC on your
existing forest, or simply make it a member server of a domain in your
forest
