Making a backup (Created a new presentation) is always the way to go. If you got the results you were looking for. Then, that was the way to do it.
Thanks for letting us know of your success.

MS MVP - PowerPoint
I managed to work it out,
Created a new presentation, copied the slides that were to remain the same
on the new presentation.
Fir the slides that I need to combine onto onw page, I added a Blank Slide,
Inserted a table, making sure it was an Excel Spreadsheet. Made the
speadsheet cover the top-half of the page and copied the same spreadsheet for
the bottom half of the page.
Went back to my original presentation & copied the first page to be inserted
in the top spreadsheet. Back to the new presentation I pasted the slide as a
Powerpoint Slide (very important) and then messed around with the size to fit
the spreadsheet.
I repeated the process for the bottom slide.
I'm sure this isn't theright way to go about it but it worked and I was able
to get the desired affect. It did however increase the size of the file
significantly.
